Deteriorating Banyan Beach Club

Treasure Cay Residents speak out about deteriorating Banyan Beach Club
Banyan Beach Club, once a popular destination, has been in an ongoing state of deterioration since year 2004.
The existing 6-7 structures are seriously dilapidated, unsafe and could collapse at any time causing injury and possibly death. The site is a hazard in tropical storms and hurricane conditions to those on the beach and traveling down the main Treasure Cay Road.
Often, there are tourists, unaccompanied children and visitors to the island found wandering around the property. The algae infested pool is a safety and health hazard, there are maggots, rats and rodents nesting in the old construction debris, exposed rusty nails and other dangerous materials found everywhere.
This is not representative of the Treasure Cay Community and the impression or hazards we want to expose to Visitors or Residents of Treasure Cay.
Is there any action that we can take to have the buildings condemned, torn down and site cleaned up? Maybe a fence around the entire site should be constructed by Owners of Property of Banyan Beach Club for safety reasons?
Here is a photo taken last week. I am sure we all agree, that this is not one we want to see used to promote Treasure Cay, the Abaco Islands or the Bahamas.
Hopefully this will be addressed at the upcoming Homeowners meeting coming up this month. Others are encouraged to speak out about this.
