1 - Sergeant
Bullard is on the job. Those who have been in Treasure Cay since the
early 1990’s remember him well as the most effective police presence
ever. He is a full time employee of Treasure Cay Limited and lives
in the Madeira Park Staff Apartments. He is actively patrolling the
community both in the day and night. He has already intercepted a
fellow at night who hand no business being here.
2 - The Gate House is Complete; new
additional cameras have been installed.
3 - TCPOA was
very pleased to award $1,000 to a good citizen for his help in the
apprehension, arrest and conviction of a miscreant for breaking into
an unoccupied home. The story was covered in the Abaconian. The
award was the first under this program.
4 - Three arrested in boat theft. A
boat stolen from a canal was recovered with the help of a GPS
tracking device that had been installed. Three men were arrested and
found in possession of items that linked them to previous thefts.
1 - Treasure
Cay limited along with help from Sergeant Bullard is recruiting
staff for the Gate House and patrols. When complete there will be a
staff to man the Gate House 24/7 and have night foot patrols.
2 - Reflective car stickers. More than
280 cars now have the reflective stickers that will help the
security staff at the gate and on patrol identify vehicles owned by
Treasure Cay residents.
3 - Photo identification tag equipment
has been purchased to aid in the identification of workers who do
not reside in Treasure Cay. All contractors and employers have been
notified of this requirement. Homeowners will also have to provide
identification for their employees.
4 - Treasure Cay Limited has sent
letters to all the developers currently working in Treasure Cay
asking them to contribute to the capital cost of the security
program. Currently only Treasure Cay and the Bahamas Beach Club are
funding the project.
5 - The last bi-weekly security meeting
(1/21) was attended by all the Villa and Condo Association heads.
There was strong support for the program and universal opinion that
the key to success was 24/7 staffing of the Gate House with
conscientious employees.
