Treasure Cay Community Center

The Treasure Cay Community Centre is indeed the heart of our community. It was built in 1974 as a place to house a community church, library, host cultural events, and provide a meeting place for our community. It was built and is supported by donations from the community. There are nine members on the Board of Directors for the Community Centre. Each director serves a 3 year term and rotates off. Jim Claggett, Don Himes and Ann Smith will be rotating off this March.

The 2011 Board of Directors:
Bob Cook– Chair, Brenda Calihan– Secretary, and Pam Himes– Treasurer. Other Board members are Dewey Chase, Loren Hall, Paige Hammond, Sally Rayner, Sheri Roberts and Vic Strimbu

In addition to the events listed below, the Centre is available to other groups for meetings, weddings, etc. Information on reserving the Centre can be obtained from the TCPOA office or by calling 242-365-9122.

Cay Events
Cay Events was founded 8 years ago to provide culture, education, entertainment and fellowship for Treasure Cay. We are continuing to provide monthly programs in these areas and are pleased to announce our 2011-2012 schedule. Although we are not a fund raising group we have accumulated a small reserve that we have been able to contribute to support the community center and groups that have emergency needs. Our board thanks all of you for your enthusiastic support and looks forward to a bright cultural future here at our beloved Treasure Cay.

Bridge
Bridge players meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in the Community Centre during the winter season. Results are posted here.

Community Church
Our Community Church holds an interdenominational, protestant worship service every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. The service is open to all, visitors and residents alike, and dress is casual. We have no full time pastor, but rather have "guest" pastors who preach from 1-4 Sundays. These guest pastors literally come from all over the world and represent a wide array of backgrounds and message styles. They usually reside in the parsonage to the left of the Community Centre and avail themselves to the community during the week for any spiritual needs that may arise. During the season the ladies enjoy a weekly bible study, and the men meet at the church for prayer and breakfast at 7:00 AM on Fridays. See the members calendar for a full schedule.
