Beginning in April, 2011 Corbett Medical Center adopted a new format for providing medical care for the residents, second homeowners and visitors of Treasure Cay and surrounding areas. Managing Physician, Dr. Jim Hull and Nurse Practitioner, Darlene Hiatt are available 24/7 to respond to emergencies. Nurse Hiatt, a resident of Treasure Cay, may originate and refill prescriptions, take x-rays, order air evacuations, provide basic trauma care and evaluate patient health. She is available at the clinic five days a week.

Dr. Hull has his practice in Marsh Harbour and is available at the Corbett Clinic two days a week. The use of state of the art electronic equipment provides Dr. Hull the ability to connect directly into the Corbett Clinic. This provides for faster diagnosis and if necessary, evacuation. Essential to the functioning of this plan is the operation of Emergency Services (TCESO). In emergencies, it is Colin Albury who first arrives at the emergency site and prepares the patient for transportation to Corbett Clinic, Dr. Hull’s clinic in Marsh Harbour or to the airport.

Corbett Concierge continues to provide services in cooperation with Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and recently also Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Fla. These services include evaluation, evacuation, reception and treatment of the patient at one of the Florida facilities on an accelerated basis. Corbett has also undergone upgrades in communication and record keeping equipment and procedures.

Corbett Medical Center and its Concierge program are unique in the Bahamas Family Island for diagnostic services and expedited evacuations. We all appreciate the quality of life here at Treasure Cay and are reassured by the presence of Corbett Medical Center as a full time, urgent care, facility.
