Rose Mary Roberts Library

This past year has seen the Library undergo some major changes since it’s earlier enlargement in 2002. A great amount of planning and work has resulted in an up-to-date listing of books, available to our librarians by accessing the library’s data base. The walls and shelves have been newly painted, conspicuous labels facilitating locating the books; DVD’s, puzzles and games. All this work was carried out by our capable and energetic group of volunteers.

We welcome as members local residents, second home owners, vacationers, and young people. Our volunteer staff enjoy meeting and helping anyone who walks through our doors. Come in and see our selection of books, fiction and non-fiction, in the adult, young people and juvenile section, we aim to please all ages and readers of all tastes. Our Bahamian book area has expanded substantially. Also available; magazines, games, puzzles, audio cassettes and books on CD's, and of course our very large selection of DVD’s. Other services offered: high speed internet, laminating, and photocopying.

The library continues to be mainly funded by the annual yard sale held the first Saturday of March. At this time we also ‘clean out” our surplus books and have them for sale. We welcome any contributions of quality ‘white elephant’ items so that we can also offer them for sale.

The Rose Mary Roberts Library has been in operation since 1974, initiated by a very ambitious group of Treasure Cay residents. Over the years we have been fortunate to have so many capable and willing volunteers, this is the only way we can continue to operate, and no one person can make this facility a success.

Our hours of operation during the winter: 3-5 p.m. Monday to Friday, times will vary during other seasons of the year.

Our committee: Virginia Curry, Ellen Kuhnle & Kathleen Pinder. Phone:365-8338, e mail address: rmrlibrary@gmail.com
