The Sand Bank Yacht Club

The Sand Bank Yacht Club was founded in 1970 by a group of part-time residents of Treasure Cay. The organization has a mission to promote boating activities among its members, and support water safety projects relating to boating in an around the Treasure Cay area.

The founders created articles and by-laws that have guided it's governance since then. The Board of Directors consists of the Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore, Fleet Captain, Treasurer, and Past Commodore. Each year its officers rotate at the annual Change of Watch dinner and business meeting. For one year, beginning January 25, 2011, the officers will be:

Commodore - Paul Hammond
Vice Commodore - George Mellon
Rear Commodore - Terry Donoghue
Fleet Captain - Dave Watt
Treasurer - Ginny Shew.
Past Commodore - Joe Calihan

The Sand Bank Yacht Club is a very active club, and the club currently has 160 members. Members must own a boat located in the Treasure Cay area, and own or lease a residence in Treasure Cay, or reside on a boat in Treasure Cay. New members are proposed by existing members and follow a process supervised by the Board. The Vice Commodore is responsible for authenticating the qualifications of each prospective member.

Visitors interested in the yacht club may inquire in the office of the Treasure Cay Property Owners Association, located at The Spinnaker parking lot in the center of Treasure Cay. Email inquiries should be directed to administrator@tcpoa.com, where the inquiry will be forwarded to the appropriate officer of the Club.
